Mr. Yi Xiaozhun Addressing at Hong Kong Session of the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO

Vice Minister of Commerce Yi Xiaozhun, who visited Hong Kong for participation of the 6th WTO Ministerial Conference, delivered a speech at Hong Kong Session of the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO on December 12.

Mr. Yi Xiaozhun said that Doha Round was a development round, aiming at narrowing the gap between the North and the South, reducing poverty and benefiting developing countries from the negotiation. Therefore, WTO members, especially developed members, should show the political will and spirit of cooperation and profession, and drive up major topics to obtain progress to guarantee success of WTO Hong Kong Ministerial Meeting.

Besides, Mr.Yi Xiaozhun said that the Chinese government would play an active role as usual in Doha Round Negotiation to endeavor to build up an open and fair international trade system with mutual efforts of other members.
